Lights, camera, action!

For the month of April, I'm so excited that I'm involved in something special. I'm one of six people chosen to take part in Uniqlo's AIRism campaign, which comprises of five other very cool Singaporeans from all walks of life, including a photographer, chef and a dancer.

Basically AIRism is a range of innerwear - I prefer to call them basics because they are so much more versatile than just being items of clothing meant to be hidden away from view -  that uses fabric which is cool to touch and moisture wicking, so you don't feel like you're being smothered to death or drowning in your own perspiration in this hot weather. Hand on heart, I've actually heard of this range of clothing and I do really wear AIRism clothing, even before I signed on for the campaign, so I do know what I'm talking about! And of course, those who know me know that I'm a huge fan of Uniqlo and that many of my wardrobe essentials such as tank tops, leggings and linen shirts come from them :)

Here's a sneak preview of what went on behind the scenes during the filming of my video clip:

Lotus, or padmasana, is one of my favourite yoga asanas, not because it looks so pretzel-like, but because, when done right (ie. you just let it happen naturally instead of trying to force your body into the pose, you feel an incredible sense of stability and ease while in the posture, like you could sit in it forever, which is the whole point of the pose.) For those who are wondering, it took me at least two years of constant yoga practice to be able to "open" my body sufficiently to get into this full pose.

If you'd like to find out a bit more about this campaign, and see the video that I did in its entirety, click on over to  http://airism.com.sg/follow/karen Tell me what you think, but be nice! It's my first time on camera and in between worrying about not flubbing my lines, I was really not thinking about very much else!

I'll also be posting regular updates on my Instagram account, so follow me @karendoesyoga to find out more :)
